About
Debi, owner of Home But Not Alone Pet Care, with daughter Catelyn
I moved to the desert with my husband in January 1996, with our 4 cats and 3
dogs all in a U Haul (actually Ryder truck) It was so fun.. After moving
here I decided to get out of the service industry (hotel and restaurant) and
become a pet sitter.
I've had a love for animals since birth. I once brought home a kitten and
hid her in my room for a week when I was 8 years old. I fed her tunafish and
milk, but had no clue that she needed a litter box. Well, it got quite smelly
and soon she was discovered. My mom hated cats, so off she went to another
house to live. Other than cats we had dogs, fish birds and gerbils growing up. I watched every animal show out there, and dreamed of one day working with animals
full-time.
Now I have my own pet sitting business with a growing clientele of animals
whom I love dearly. It breaks my heart to see a family move away, or an
animal pass away. But the rewards of unconditional love are greater than the
heartbreaks.
My own crew has fluctuated over the years. We now have 2 dogs 3 cats, frogs
and many finches with a baby Conure on the way. Hopefully he'll be here by
the months end. I have a beautiful 4 year daughter who loves and respects animals more than I could ever had dreamed of.
That's all folks!

Kristen started with me last November. After volunteering with animal shelters in Santa Barbara and Rome, she finally found a job that pays her to do what she does best - love animals! Here she is at a dog shelter in Florence, Italy.
